St John’s Walthamstow is a Conservative Evangelical Anglican church in a vibrant, ‘up and coming’ multicultural area of North East London.

We are looking for a godly man:

  • eager to grow as a disciple of Jesus themselves and to see people rescued and transformed by Jesus

  • spiritually mature, with previous ministry experience and some suitable theological training (e.g. Cornhill, apprenticeship, degree)

  • who shares our (complementarian) conservative evangelical convictions

  • to work alongside our Vicar and Women and Families’ worker in growing and making disciples among men and families

  • able to teach the Bible in a variety of contexts to a range of ages e.g. sermons, Bible Studies, 1-2-1s, evangelistic talks and to train and equip men, children and young people for ministry

  • who we can love, support and delight in seeing grow



Generous package commensurate with experience + ongoing training

This is a full-time permanent role, (with 6 months' probation).

We will provide you with a generous package, commensurate with experience, including money towards accommodation if required, and opportunities for personally tailored further training.


St John's Walthamstow is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. All post holders and volunteers are expected to share this commitment and work within our Safeguarding Policy. All appointments are subject to acceptable pre-appointment checks, including a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check. You will be required to attend relevant safeguarding training.
