MINISTER IN TRAINING / ASSISTANT MINISTER

 

St John’s Walthamstow is a Conservative Evangelical Anglican church in a vibrant, ‘up and coming’ multicultural area of North East London.

We are looking for a godly man:

  • eager to grow as a disciple of Jesus themselves and to see people rescued and transformed by Jesus

  • spiritually mature, with previous ministry experience and some suitable theological training (e.g. Cornhill, apprenticeship, degree)

  • who shares our (complementarian) conservative evangelical convictions

  • to work alongside our Vicar and Women and Families’ worker in growing and making disciples among men and families

  • able to teach the Bible in a variety of contexts to a range of ages e.g. sermons, Bible Studies, 1-2-1s, evangelistic talks and to train and equip men, children and young people for ministry

  • who we can love, support and delight in seeing grow

 

 

Generous package commensurate with experience + ongoing training

We will provide you with time and money for appropriate ongoing training (e.g. Cornhill + conferences) and supervision and support - within the Church Family and beyond.

 

This is a full-time permanent role, (with 6 months' probation).

We will provide you with a generous package, commensurate with experience, including money towards accommodation if required, and opportunities for personally tailored further training.

All post holders and volunteers are expected to share this commitment and work within our Safeguarding Policy. All appointments are subject to acceptable pre-appointment checks, including a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check. You will be required to attend relevant safeguarding training.

CHURCH MANAGER

(part time)

 

St John’s Walthamstow is a Conservative Evangelical Anglican church in a vibrant, ‘up and coming’ multicultural area of North East London.

We are looking to appoint a Church Manager to help us ensure that our church building and ministries are safe, welcoming and effectively managed.

 

Responsibilities:

This role will involve working alongside staff and volunteers to:

  • manage the building and daily operations

  • set and maintain clear policies, risk management and legal compliance processes

  • provide administrative and communication support for church activities including volunteer management and our church website

We are looking for:

  • a mature Christian who shares our (complementarian) conservative evangelical convictions and is committed to their own personal growth as a disciple of Jesus as well as to our vision and strategy.

  • someone who is highly organised, flexible, able to work independently, with excellent people skills, high-level verbal and written communication skills, confident using modern office technology and an eye for detail.
