Promoting a safer church

Everyone matters to God. We want to do all we can to make sure everyone is safe at our church.

​

The PCC of Saint John's​ has adopted the Safeguarding Policy Statement of the Church of England that was agreed and published by the House of Bishops in 2017.

 

The policy makes six overarching policy commitments:

  • Promoting a safer environment and culture.

  • Safely recruiting and supporting all those with any responsibility related to children, young people and vulnerable adults within the Church

  • Responding promptly to every safeguarding concern or allegation

  • Caring pastorally for victims/survivors of abuse and other affected persons

  • Caring pastorally for those who are the subject of concerns or allegations of abuse and other affected persons

  • Responding to those that may pose a present risk to other

Waltham Forest Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team can be reached on 020 8496 2310 (out-of-hours:  020 8496 3000). Monday to Thursday 9am to 5.15pm, Friday 9am to 5pm.
